Fresh seasonal produce brought to you in a vibrant, fun atmosphere. Every Sunday morning rain or shine in Kerikeri, more than 40 stall holders showcase Northland's best locally grown fresh vegetables and fruit, plus cheese, olive oil, wine, honey, preserves, free range eggs and more.

January:  Waipu    137th Annual Waipu Highland Games

The Waipu Highland Games is the biggest event of its kind in New Zealand and is a unique cultural celebration as far as Northland is concerned. Pipers, drummers and dancers come from all over New Zealand to compete with the quality being equal to anywhere in the world. Waipu is also the home of the NZ Championship Highland Heavy Field Events, which has competitors from all over the world to compete against the current New Zealand Champion. Most of all it is a Fun Family Day with something for young and old, especially to be able to witness the Massed Bands March and the Massed Highland Fling. For details www.highlandgames.co.nz

An annual event since 1976. A spectacle of sail with several tall ships and overseas yachts participating

January:  Opua   Bay of Islands Sailing Week

Bay of Islands Sailing week will be sailed from Opua Wharf and it just keeps getting more and more popular ! Entry is open to Monohulls in ORC, PHRF, General Handicap Cruising Division (no extras), Sportsboats, Flying Fifteens and any other dinghy classes able to make up a class. One hundred entries are expected, with many boats now making the B.O.I. Sailing Week a firm fixture in their racing calendar. Secure your Marina Berth and accommodation ASAP. February:  Waitangi Festival   

A fun Family festival with sports and entertainment events designed for the entire family. New Zealand's recognition of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi. On and around the site of the signing are various displays and activities celebration the New Zealand way of life
