Whangarei Wins Royal Naval Contract

Northland Spars and Rigging have won the contract to supply and fit lifelines for four coastal protection ships being built by Teniex Boatbuilders in Whangarei. We are delighted to be appointed to this prestigious project. The fact that we have been chosen to work with the Royal Navy shows confidence in our organisation and our commitment to quality and safety


New Rig Manufacture for Zephyr Yachts

As part of an on-going exclusive contract with Zephyr Owner's Association, Northland Spars and Rigging will produce 20 new rigs over the next four months for their fleet of racing yachts.

This is a great contract for us, we have excellent facilities in both Whangarei and Opua for mast manufacture and this is a strong indication of the confidence and commitment that the Industry has in the company.


Z-Spars mast imported for major Re-fit

The owners of yacht "Tiahaa", a 42ft Fontain Pajot, commissioned Spars and Rigging to source and import a replacement Z-Spars mast from the UK as part of a rerig on their yacht. Our established relationship with marine industry suppliers worldwide ensures client comfort and satisfaction during this project.


65ft Catamaran Re-rig

Spars and Rigging have been commissioned to carry out a complete re-rig of a 65ft catamaran "Orient Express" during the months of July and August 2008. These winter months are an excellent time to consider major projects to maximise the wonderful sailing conditions from November through to April.


Great performance in Auckland to Fiji offshore race

Opua manager Paul Smith competed in the recent Auckland to Fiji offshore race as a crew member on board a Ross 40' yacht "Revs". They were placed fourth overall and achieved speeds of up to 23knots. Asked to comment on conditions during the race, Paul stated "It was bloody wet!". We understand Paul was greatly valued for his additional ballast contribution......


New Wings for Swan 58

Our Whangarei site has been appointed to supply and fit a new rig for an American-owned blue-water cruising yacht. The 58ft Swan will be fitted with a 21m mast and 4.5m boom by our Whangarei Riggers who are well aquainted with working with vessels of this calibre.



Race Tuning News

Riggers in our Opua site are re-rigging and race tuning a 7.5m Sports Boat on behalf of its enthusiastic and competitive owner. Northland Spars and Rigging also tuned or refitted 65% of the yachts that took part in the recent Whangarei to Vanuatu race.
